Some memes are ubiquitous, popping up at various times and places,
we see them in children's games and social media sites like Facebook.
Covering part of one's face and painting in the features seems to be one of them.
Equally interesting, we see what we think; the added text
prompts our interpretation, heightening our awareness.
Designed to engage the central visual cortex, these images bypass logic
to highlight the biology of seeing, of reading ourselves and others.
Facial recognition is used to detect mood, friend or foe
(sometimes the eyes in a painting follow me around the room).
Here the real and the symbolic are brought into relationship,
in a work to reveal a hidden aspects of the self, it's other side.
